Velobind can bind up to 3 inches with select models. Creates a clean professional bind, files well without additional spine bulk.

General Questions:

 Which machines does all types of binding?
Only 2 do all types; OD 4000 (manual) OD 4800 (electric). However, they will do the various types when the separate neccessary additional parts and dies are connected or installed. The additional parts are sold separately or ask your sales representative.

Are there any machines that do all the work for me?
No, all the machines require some type of physical, manual operation.

Who makes the most reliable machine?
Ibico has the longest lifespan, and is the least trouble-some, but all brands work well.

Can I use a cover on any type of binding?
Yes, they are all universal.

Can my book lay flat or back-to-back?
No, not by using Velobind, only the comb will work that way.

Will composition and linen covers work with Velobind?
Yes, covers are universal.

How many books can I make out of 1 box of adhesive?
This depends on how thick the book is and how much adhesive you are using. Thinner books use less adhesive and get more uses, thick books use more adhesive and get less uses, results will vary.

What is the difference between a hot knife and a cold knife?
Cold knives have one type one eleven . Hot knives are the most common. Hot knives work by using a cut and melt method.

Can I remove the bind on a hot knife system once it is bound?
Yes, with a debinder.

Can a desktop work like a hot or cold knife?
No, instead of cutting and permanently binding, the prongs in the back fold over. They can be used for debinding, altering and reused.

What is the difference between Quickbind and Velobind?
